This story is unbelievably sweet and sad.Eri van den Biggelaar, 40, has just a few weeks to live after being diagnosed last year with an aggressive form of cervical cancer. She asked the woodwork teacher, a friend, to build a coffin for her. "Why don’t you let the children make it?" replied Erik van Dijk.

There is something really creepy about this. Must kids be exposed to the concept of death so early? Cant they live in the fantasy world of childhood until its necessary to bring them to reality?
Just a hunch , but I bet these kids are told there is no Santa Claus or Easter Bunny. Just a hunch.
Better, I think, than simply telling them that their teacher is just going away and never coming back.
Tell them she went to Heaven.
Unless its a public school run by hard core secularists........in which case you build a coffin and chip away at the fantasy world of childhood & force them to come to grips with the realities of life in the name of truth & political correctness.
