Jacaranda Days in the Valley

About the time the last few oranges drop from their trees in early June, Jacarandas bloom in an explosion of purple along our street in the San Fernando Valley.

I always thought it would be cool to collect up all of the jacaranda blossoms in L.A. and throw them into a giant shredder in the sky and have it rain down purple snow everywhere.

Cool idea, eh?
