About the time the last few oranges drop from their trees in early June, Jacarandas bloom in an explosion of purple along our street in the San Fernando Valley.

I always thought it would be cool to collect up all of the jacaranda blossoms in L.A. and throw them into a giant shredder in the sky and have it rain down purple snow everywhere.
Cool idea, eh?
